SIGNAL TRANSDUCTION, Lichtturm Soligen, Germany, 2016

Commissioned by Dinnebier Licht, Mathew Emmett & Eberhard Kranemann performed live at the Lichtturm Solingen light tower, formerly a water tower located on the edge of a nature reserve. Inspired by the alchemist Hennig Brand’s discovery of phosphorus (cold fire) in 1669, the project uses video, sound and interactive technology to immerse the audience within alchemical transformations.
