OVERLAID REALITIES, Plymouth, 2010

By emphasising the dual location of perception and cognition Overlaid Realities merges the sensory experience of the museum with the environment of the ‘other’, hosting participatory relationships, whilst converging interdependent processes. The installation blurs the defined boundaries between museum exhibits and visitors by integrating the observer within the system being observed and creating participatory architectural experience. Notions of second-order cybernetics and technoscience as well as post-phenomenology are explored in the design.
